There are different types of doors openers and operators, so it’s best to know the differences before you select a model: 

Belt drive door openers –  are super quiet, lighter, and offer additional features such as soft start and stop to reduce wear and tear on the door and motor. The belt drive opener greatly reducing overall noise.

Screw drive door openers-  give you the most power with the fastest operating speeds, and are usually used with heavier gates and larger doors.

Chain drive door openers​ – use a chain to open and close the door. They are widely used, and if given proper care will last a long time. Usually, chain drive garage door openers are powered by an AC motor and are typically louder, larger, and heavier since they require more components.

Commercial door operators are ideal for shopping mall applications with lighter rolling doors and grilles. Doors used with this operator should be balanced with the ability to be manually lifted by hand in an emergency or power outage.
